Having Fibromyalgia Doesn't Mean You Have to Live with Pain!

With Spring around the corner, people look forward to planting their garden, spring cleaning, or playing outdoor sports--unless you suffer from Fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia robs you from the ability to be active due to chronic unrelenting pain and swelling of the joints, muscles, and tissues. This persistent pain over time very often leads to depression because of the inability to enjoy life, have mental focus, and complete daily living activities.

Jane C. visited her primary physician when the pain began. She was originally told that it was arthritis pain and was referred to a rheumatologist who diagnosed her with fibromyalgia and put her on anti-inflammatory and pain medicine. When she saw no relief, she was then referred to a physiatrist who gave her exercises to improve her movement and muscle tone. As the pain persisted, she continued to go back to her doctors for answers and was told, "you just have to learn to live with it." That's when a friend told her about the Holistic Center at Bristol Square.

At our Center, we examined Jane and found the underlying stressors irritating her musculoskeletal system.
